1: APPLY FOR EXCHANGE STUDIES AT YOUR HOME INSTITUTION
First, you need to apply for exchange studies at your home institution. You do that by contacting the international office (or equivalent) at your home institution. Your home institution will then help and guide you with further information about the steps you need to take in order for you to go abroad.
Secondly, before starting the application process with us, you need to beaccepted/nominated by your home institution. This is important since your home institution is responsible for making sure that the semester you would like to join matches your current study programme and that the ECTS can be transferred. If you have not been nominated to Lillebaelt Academy by your home institution, you cannot apply for an exchange semester with us.
3: APPLICATION FORM
When your home institution has nominated you, you can start to fill out our online application form. You will find the application form further down on this page. In this form you will also apply for accommodation*. If you have your learning agreement* ready at this point you can send it with the application (preferably in pdf-format).
* Read more about accommodation under “Practical information” in the menu to the right.
** You will find your learning agreement in the menu to the right. Please be aware that you have a fixed learning agreement, which means that you have a specific one for the programme and the semester you would like to attend to.
4: APPLICATION DEADLINE
The application deadline is:
- 1 May for autumn semester (study start in September)
- 1 November for spring semester (study start in February)
However, we strongly recommend you to send your application to us as soon as possible, and we suggest minimum one month before application deadline, because you need a residence permit approved before studying with us and that takes approximately three months.
5: RESIDENT PERMIT
It takes approximately three months to receive a resident permit. You cannot enter Denmark or study with us if you do not have a residence permit.
What happens next?
You will receive a confirmation mail stating that we have received your application.
If you have been accepted at Lillebaelt Academy we will send a Letter of Acceptance to you. At the same time, you will receive practical information about e.g. your study-time, accommodation and the resident permit.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding the application process you are more than welcome to contact our international department.
