Summer school in Croatia
Six students from Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education are starting their summer holiday with developing their European business skills. The students are participating in a summer school called ‘European Business Skills – Internationalization in a European Context’. The summer school takes place in Varazdin, Croatia between 30 June and 11 July 2014, and it focuses on preparing the students for the global work market by developing their intercultural skills.
Danijel Zovko - who studies Financial Management at Lillebaelt Academy - is one of the students who will be participating in the summer school.
- I decided to apply to this summer school, because it is a unique chance to develop my personality. I will meet new people with the same interest as me, and we can share our ideas. The summer school will give me the necessary tools for my career and future, which no other course can give me. This trip will open my perspectives, and it is a good way to improve my communication skills.
The summer school brings together approximately 60 students and 20 teachers from different European countries during a two week intensive programme. The students will learn how to find and deal with similarities and differences between national cultures regarding cultural platforms, strategic planning, leadership styles, social media and information sharing, and effective negotiation skills among others.
- I think international activities give me a great perspective on life and my education, which can give me an advantage in my future career. It also gives me the opportunity to gain a broader network. And last but not least, participating in international activities challenges my limits and helps me achieve a broader perspective on things, says Patricia Carlsen who studies Financial Controller at Lillebaelt Academy.
