Welcome to Lillebaelt Academy!
Below we have gathered a selection of information, which is nice to know when you start your studies at EAL:
EU, Nordic, and Baltic Citizens
If you are a citizen of an EU or Nordic country tuition is free. Also for foreigners with a permanent residence permit the tuition is free of charge.
Erasmus students and other exchange students
Tuition is free of charge and you may borrow books at the academy.
Due to regulations from the Danish Ministry of Education, there is a tuition fee for foreigners from non-EU countries.
If we accept your application, after having seen your diplomas, you need a residence permit for Denmark.
Please notice that you must pay tuition fee for first semester before you can apply for a student’s residence permit. Tuition fee for the following semesters must subsequently be paid in advance as well.
Living costs and accommodation
The monthly living costs including rent are approximately DKK 6,000.
Student accommodation in Odense typically cost around 2,500 DKK (approx. 335 Euro) per month, with a 2-3 month deposit payable prior to handover of keys. The academy is of course willing to counsel you on how and where you can get accomodation, and Odense City Council guarantees that there is accommodation available to all EU-students at institutions of further education.
Student discounts and other information, which is 'nice to know'
If you have a student ID you can get discounts many places in Odense and Vejle and you have a lot of other benefits as an EAL student. Find the benefits on this page.
Do you have questions about your study programme our Student Counsellors are ready to help and guide you. Find your student counsellor on this page.
The Career Counselling provides individual students with the opportunity to have their applications and CVs checked – or to have a chat about the options available when searching for an internship or a job. Find more information about our Career Counselling on this page.
Lillebaelt Academy uses the electronic conference system Fronter, which increasingly serves as an information channel to students from the teaching staff and the management. You will receive instructions on how to use the system when you start at your study programme. It is expected that students check Fronter on a daily basis. Go to Fronter.

Student Counsil - DSR
DSR is the official body for the co-operation between students on the various programmes and the management, and it is an important factor in creating a good study environment. DSR represents the students related to the academy. Each class selects a representative for the student council.
As well, each programme has a student council with representatives from each class.
